Very smart. Where are the Macs though? ;-)

I like the near vertical laptop, looks cool. Just needs more macs now ;)

I have most of those books, but not the CSS one :) That said, I just got the Five Simple Steps Book.

I just can't seem to escape Mac zealots at the moment! Even this morning on the train there was a lass doing an MBP sales pitch to anyone who'd listen. The world must be trying to tell me something.

The docking station is great, saves cricking neck or buying another monitor. Got it on eBay for around £40.

Nice setup. Liking the laptop..

(As discussed on Twitter)

You said you have a [old] desktop under there too, but have to switch the keyboard and mouse over..

I am thinking I would prob go with laptop and docking station and zero desktop when it packs up.. Like the minimalistic setup and you still get the dual monitor..

I see you don't have a lot of room for putting pen to paper.. You do most of your notes online?

I still hug 2x pads - 1 reporters pad for my code todo (e.g. add this method, refactor that) then a larger A4 pad for random crap I need to note but is not _really_ important.

@Rob - yeah, the desktop is so infrequently used that I don't see the point buying a KVM. The monitor has two inputs, so I only need to swap the mouse and keyboard, and the desktop has ports on the front, so no biggie.

Most of my coding todo is either Remember The Milk tasks, // TODO comments, or failing unit tests.

I do hug an A4 pad for random crap, brain farts, sketching out domain models, that kind of thing. It's usually where the mobile phone and headphones are. But you're right, not a lot of space for that stuff, and it gets messy when I'm sorting out paperwork or working on genealogy.

Very swish! Although you haven't shown us your office chair. It's all about the chair! ;-)

Oh, and a Mac.

#7 avatar John Topley on 22 May 2009 at 12:33

Yes, I was wondering about the chair!

#8 ian avatar Ian Nelson on 22 May 2009 at 12:35

A few people have commented on the docking station - it's a Dell PR01X docking station with D/View stand. Found it on eBay for £29.99.

Dammit Ian, tell us about the chair!
