The Great 'Quake of '08

My favourite piece of media coverage of last night's dramatic tremor (which woke a nation but resulted in just one broken bone):

"A woman in Notting Hill, a wealthy section of London, reported that her radio was bumping up and down on a shelf for several seconds."

Says it all!

My Mum (who lives in Lincoln) slept through it, whereas some colleagues down here in the sarf of the country claimed to have felt the tremors!

One of the best comments I've seen so far was:

"Dave Clemo, from Brambleside in Kettering, said: "I was woken by the windows and mirrors shaking. There was no damage but the wife was shaken. She held on to me and asked me to make the earth stop moving.

"Also our pet parrot appears to have fallen off his perch and is bleeding slightly from his beak."
